"Real Heroes Program" - up to $2,500 in training costs

The Real Heroes Program, offered through PenFed Realty, is designed to support veterans, military spouses, and active duty men and women in their transition from military to a civilian career in real estate. The Community Heroes Program is designed to support police, firefighters, EMT, nurses and teachers in their transition from their careers to one in real estate. Both Programs pay for training and licensing up to $2,500.

ABOUT ME: I am a second generation Realtor and have lived and worked in the Washington DC Metro area for over 35 years. I was raised in the Panama Canal Zone and speak a little Spanish.

I was selected by HGTV’s, My First Place for an episode depicting first time home buyers going through the process of buying their first home! I have a personal approach when working with my clients. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: I began my adult life serving in the United States Navy, stationed in Barbers Point, Hawaii. After leaving the Navy, I worked for the Federal Government at the Veterans Administration. The years following my federal service, I worked as a legal secretary. Later I went back to school and after graduating, worked as a government contractor programming websites and designing databases for the US Navy. After raising my children, I finally was able to pursue my love of Real Estate!

Maxine McLeod Miller, began her real estate career in 1192 as Director of Sales and Marketing for William Clarke Properties. In 1997, she moved to Prudential Carolina Real Estate as an Associate Broker where she served on the company's marketing council and was a consistent top producer. in 2002, Maxine moved to Norther Virginia with her husband where she has been active in real estate sales and the training and coaching of real estate agents.

A former Career Development Manager and trainer, Maxine is currently the managing broker for the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty offices in Alexandria and Fairfax, VA. She loves staying on top of the market and is an excellent career coach. Maxine is very involved in the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS and is currently serving on the Grievance Committee. In the past she has served as the chairwoman of the Education Advisory Group and the Convention Committee, as well as vice-chair of the Broker's Forum. A true believer in giving back to not only her profession but her community, Maxine is also involved with Reading is Fundamental of Northern Virginia, the Junior League of Northern Virginia, and The Falls Church.
